When Bernie sees people coming, he nearly levitates to get closer. We're not kidding! His agility ability is off the charts --- and it is just because he adores humans and other canines so much. He just has to get closer. Bernie's ability to love and learn is amazing, too, which is a big deal considering his life prior to NC Pal. Bernie followed someone homebegging for foodand then spent most of life tethered to a tree. That is, until his owner moved and left him there. Bernie had heartworms when he was rescued which explained his painfully thin condition. He has been successfully treated and will probably weigh about 40 lbs when he fills out. He is about 2 years old and is crate trained and house trained. He would be a great family pet, jogging partner or a playmate for an active puppy (Bernie is very submissive toward other dogs). He greets small children with lots of kisses. Bernie deserves a second chance and is waiting to hear from anyone who would like to meet him. There is always a 2-week trial period to make certain you've found a good match. Bernie's adoption fee is $125. He is neutered, microchipped (with free registration in your name), up-to-date with vaccines, and has been treated for heartworms. Bernie comes with a complimentary collar and leash.
